March Minutes

The last meeting of the Barnyard Bunch was March 22. It was called into order by the Vice President at 2:07. After the pledges were said members learned how to show a gerbil and a duck. Members discussed their goals for their project area and members learned the three P’s of showmanship: pride, professionalism, and polish. After they meeting activity they went into the administrative part of the meeting. The secretary’s minutes were read and approved. In the bank account there is now $339.24. Jay Springsteen and E.J. Potter will both be at the car show at the Church of God Campgrounds. A $50 gift card was donated ( by Aileen) to the club for them to buy indoor/outdoor carpet. All orders for the bulb fundraiser need to be turned in by April 10 to Theresa. The next meeting will be April 26 and members need to bring in their favorite picture (portrait style not landscape). The activities for the next meeting will be horticulture related.

February Meeting

The last meeting was February 22. It was called to order at 2:o4 by the President. After the pledges were said instead of going into the business portion of the meeting the club members learned how to show a cat, rabbit, and a chicken before. They also talked about record books. The secretary's report was read and approved. There were no changes in the Treasurer's report. Chicken banding along with the plant swap is suppose to be May 16 at the fairgrounds. At the car show fundraiser on Saturday June 27, E.J. Potter will be there. The next meeting will be March 22 and members are suppose to bring five goals they would like to achieve in their project area.

January Minutues

The last meeting was January 25. It was called to order at 2:06 by the President. The secretary's minutes were read and approved. According to the Treasurer's report there was $425.06 in the bank account minus $110 for enrollment fee leaving the finally amount at $315.06. There will be a Leadermete at the Comfort Inn in Mt. Pleasant on Saturday February 7. There will also be a 4-H communications day on Saturday February 14 at MSU. On Wednesday February 25 there will be an Animal Science Seminar at the RESD from 5:30-8:30. There will also be a Large animal workshop at Kettunen Center February28-March 1 for 4-Hers older than 13. There will be a Horticulture & Entomology workshop on Saturday March 28 at MSU. The cost is six dollars. For the club display it was decided to get indoor/outdoor carpet for the floor and if no donation can be got to to pay for it from the club's account. There will be no animal bedding for the animals at the fair this year. There will be no separate small animal sale. Both the large and small animal sales will be Friday in the large arena with the small animal's sale starting at 11 and the large animal sale following after. After the meeting members went over different animal parts. The next meeting will be February 15.
